Handcrafted from old-growth elm, the Bree is naturally denser and more resilient than furniture made from new-growth timber. This slow-grown wood features tightly packed rings, making it structurally superior and more resistant to warping, splitting, and pests. As a natural material, the timber may continue to "breathe" with the seasons; small surface cracks are a celebrated part of its evolving character.
Care & Maintenance
- Routine Cleaning: Dust regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth or a brush attachment on your vacuum to reach into the wood's natural nooks and crannies. For a deeper clean, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild soap solution and dry immediately.
- Protection: Always use coasters and placemats under drinks or hot items to prevent rings and heat marks. Avoid placing your table in direct sunlight or near intense heat sources (like heaters or fireplaces), as this can dry out the wood and cause fading or cracking.
- Avoid Chemicals: Do not use silicone-based sprays, bleach, or abrasive cleaners, as these can strip the wood’s natural patina and damage the finish.
- Rejuvenation: To maintain its soft, tactile feel, you may periodically apply a high-quality furniture wax or natural wood oil every 1–2 years.
