Handcrafted from old-growth elm, the Bela is naturally denser and more resilient than furniture made from new-growth timber. This slow-grown wood features tightly packed rings, making it structurally superior and more resistant to warping or splitting over time. As a natural material, the timber may continue to "breathe" with the seasons; these subtle shifts are a celebrated part of its evolving character.
Care & Maintenance
- Routine Cleaning: Dust regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. To reach into the wood's natural grain and nooks, a soft brush attachment on a vacuum can also be used.
- Protection: Always use coasters or placemats under drinks or hot items to prevent rings. Avoid placing your table in direct sunlight or near intense heat sources (like heaters), which can cause the wood to dry out or fade.
- Avoid Chemicals: Do not use silicone-based sprays, bleach, or abrasive cleaners, as these will damage the natural patina and finish.
- Rejuvenation: To maintain its soft, tactile feel, you may periodically apply a high-quality furniture wax or natural wood oil every 1–2 years.
